"Calontir Army 101"

May 31^st, 2008 - Shire of Amlesmore

War College, a Calontir tradition will be held again this year in the Shire of Amlesmore.  A day of classes taught by the experts. As usual, classes will be held by puissant personages in various weapon styles and techniques throughout the day.   We also have an Archery range available. Lunch will be served in the traditional “un-period” but tasty “off the grill” style. If you have special dietary concerns, please contact the autocrat well in advance.

BRING YOUR SCUTUMS!! - We will need any and all scutums for drills.

Location: Tribble Park, Hallsville, Mo.
Site opens at 9 a.m., and closes at 8 p.m.
Site Fee: FREE!

Free lunch will be served. Donations accepted. Please make checks payable to SCA, Inc. - Shire of Amlesmore.

Merchants: You are most welcome. Fighters need stuff too, and no merchant’s fee will be asked. If you need some sort of table, please contact the autocrat well in advance.

There is crash space available, including primitive camping, should you decide to stay late. 

Why stay late? Well, some (now) traditional aspects of War College:

BONFIRE POST-REVEL at Abbott Acres- A huge bonfire will be provided off-site...please try not to immolate your friends. We have five acres of camping space available or, if you prefer, large amounts of indoor, primitive (i.e. bring a sleeping bag) flat space at Their Excellencies' Eric & Katrine's house is available for crash space. This off-site location, about a mile north from the event site, will be the location of the Bonfire Post-Revel with plenty of parking. CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES - Children will be welcome at the event.  Bring the boffers!

Directions: Find your best route to Columbia, MO. From I-70 at exit 128 go north on Highway 63. Take the Route B exit to Hallsville. Drive north on Route B for 10 miles. You will reach the city limits of Hallsville. Continue to the four-way stop. (We only have one.) Turn right at the four-way stop, continue east approximately 1/2 block to Tribble Park. It will be on the right.
